Believe the photos you see -- Villa Castelletto looks every bit like them, and I'd argue it's much better in person.
Here are some facts:
* There are no neighbors and it is absolutely silent -- just sitting around one feels relaxed

* Unobstructed views of the mountains that plunge into Lake Garda

* High-end finishes, quality linens/towels, and a kitchen stocked with everything you'd need

* Warmest hospitality from the Hofers

Things to know (these are not complaints by any means, but they are things you'd want to know :)):
* The gravel driveway is steep and has some hairpin turns. When they mention you would want a SUV or AWD vehicle, they're being honest. We had an AWD BMW 4-series and did just fine, but we went slowly to avoid scraping the underside. After a few drives, it becomes super easy, but just be aware of this especially if your car has low ground clearance.
And, you need to have a car here -- this is not for people who rely on public transportation.

* It's a good 10 minute drive to get to San Zeno (probably the biggest, closest town), and maybe 15 minutes to Brenzone. We found ourselves wanting to eat a large lunch at restaurants during the day, and with the coziness of the villa, it was great to cook in the huge kitchen at night so everybody could relax with wine and not worry about driving the windy roads home.

* The Hofers maintain a great herb garden -- thyme, rosemary, oregano, and others -- are right outside the door.

* There are essentially two apartments in the villa -- the top floor apartment has a bedroom, bathroom, and small kitchenette. The lower apartment is the main one that has the huge kitchen, 2 en-suite bedrooms, separate bathroom, and living areas. There are separate entrances for each.

* Wifi speed is good, but not ultra-fast. There is a nice speaker box that connects via Bluetooth or Aux jack to play music. The peaceful and idyllic location made this a wonderful getaway spot -- I would stay here again without any reservations and would recommend it to anybody.

We had THE best time here!!! The villa is incredibly cosy and those views over the lake are one of a kind!

We couldn't have asked for better hosts either! They were so friendly and gave us the warmest of welcomes. Not one thing to criticise - will definitely come back next year!

Villa Castelletto is a superb choice for a Lake Garda vacation. It enjoys stunning views from its hillside location looking down over Castelletto to Lake Garda, and is set in superb landscaped grounds.

Private, and reached by its own secluded track, there are several peaceful spots to relax in the extensive grounds overlooking the lake, olive groves or by the natural pool, sauna or hot tub The villa itself is very well-appointed with high quality fixtures and fittings to make your stay enjoyable and stress free – it has absolutely everything you need. The Hofer family provided a warm and friendly welcome, were superb in answering any initial booking enquiries, and are always on hand (discreetly) if you have any issues or want some help with recommendations with local attractions and restaurants. Ideally placed to explore the towns and villages and enjoy the activities around Lake Garda, the opera in Verona, and also venture further afield – Venice was easily drivable on a day trip. Highly recommended.

Probably best to say that our stay at Villa Castelleto vastly exceeded already high expectations. The pictures of the villa give an idea of how the place looks, but only when you are actually there does the full beauty of the place and the surroundings really come to life.

So peaceful and relaxing. Villa - Feels much bigger inside than the pictures show. And everything is so clean and modern and new, but still comfortable and done in a traditional style. Three bedrooms, three immaculate bathrooms (and one toilet room on the groundfloor with a urinal!), huge modern kitchen with everything you'd ever need to cook, fireplace, webber bbq grill, wine cellar, laundry room, deck with beautiful hot tub with amazing views of the lake, outdoor tables, natural swimming pool just up the hill, brand new sauna right next to the pool. Only thing to note is that the upstairs (which has one bedroom/bathroom/and kitchen area) is almost like a separate apartment...there are no internal stairs to get from one to the other, so you have to walk outside. No big deal as long as its not raining!

Other thing to note is the driveway; as the hosts will tell you, it is a steep gravel road that can be difficult to drive up when wet. We did NOT have a four wheel drive vehicle and managed to handle the drive, but if you are not an adventurous driver then a 4x4 would be preferred. Fiat makes the small Panda model in a 4x4 version, so you don't need to break the bank in Italy to get a 4x4 car.

Hospitality - couldn't have asked for anything more from the Hofer family. They were the ideal hosts; so friendly and helpful both in arranging our holiday before we arrived, as well as making sure we had everything we needed when we were there. Hildegard delivered homemade fresh bread and pastries to us every morning, Norbert arrived with some fresh eggs from the chickens one day, and they were always keen to check to make sure that everything about our stay was going well without being intrusive. And Maibrit was so helpful in arranging our visit ahead of time.

Surrounding Area - so many things to see and do in the Lake Garda region, from sailing/boating on the lake (can rent boats right from the marina in Castelletto di Brenzone), hiking the Roman Road right from the property, visiting Valpolicello or Verona, and enjoying the various towns along the lake. So much to do...we will be back. Many thanks to the Hofer family!
